On the Hook: Klamath Shawl

I started the Klamath Shawl by Sarah Kukucheck on Monday.  I am crocheting it in Claudia Yarns Handpainted Fingering Wt in River Bank Grass colorway.  This is a crummy pic.  I should've pinned it out to take the pic because it doesn't photograph well.  The colorway is a subtle tonal yarn and the first section of the pattern is crocheted in dc stitches with ch 1 lace detail on either side of ctr.  I've finished this section.  I decided to go with the "E" size.  I only have 350 yds of this yarn, so it will be a very small shawl, more of a neckerchief.  I've started the next section, which is the Feather and Fan section of the shawl.

Tonight I was freaking out because I couldn't figure out how to place the markers.  Then I scrolled down and saw her pictorial tutorial!  D'oh!  LOL!  This is precisely why newbies should not engage in the crocheting when tired.

Hook on!

  1. I like that title: On the Hook. Would you be offended if I borrowed it for my own blog?

I've been on a shawl kick, and I just downloaded this pattern after talking to you about it on Twitter. I have 3 or 4 more (plus 2 in the works) before I can get to it,but it looks like fun!

  2. I love the colorway. Looks great!

  3. I'm on no shawl kick but this is really pretty I might have to put it into my queue.
