Episode 2: Show Notes

FYI - BTR was having some audio issues this week.  It's not my connection or mic, so I'm unsure why I cut out in certain parts of the podcast.  Hopefully, that will be resolved by next week's episode! :)

  • Craft rooms – How do you make dual/multi purpose rooms work?  I need to combine my dining room with a craft area and need some suggestions to make it work! :)

Errata: The Butterfly Twirls pattern in the Summer Edition of KnitCircus is NOT a cropped sweater, but a toddler dress with knitted lace top and fabric bottom.  My apologies to Megan Bayonet

  1. I actually just blogged about my craft area/craft room envy!

Since I live alone no one is annoyed by my projects being all over the place. I find that bags and baskets are really helpful. I try to only have one in progress project out at a time, and that's usually on the couch. Other finished projects that aren't quite ready for sale (they need to be photographed, have a tag sewn on etc.) do end up spread throughout the space and serve as reminders for me to get going on that!

  2. Enjoyed listening to your radio show! I especially liked hearing about the KALs you are doing...I tend to forget about them and you have enticed me to look into a few. Good luck with your crochet shawl, too. :)

  3. Hi, I enjoyed your podcast. I'll have to listen through iTunes as I'm in California and am at work by then. You asked about craftrooms and I say take the whole dining room for your crafting unless it's the only dining area.

My DH got tired of my quilting machine/fabric/design wall being in the living room so when we bought this 2 bd house he gave me the master bedroom. We sleep in the 2nd smaller bedroom.

It's great as it has a bathroom and sliding glass door to the backyard and lots of light. It's full of quilting fabric, sewing machines, a quilting frame with machine, cutting table and a wall of fabric (in wire bins - pretty). It also has a BIG design wall for quilting.

I'm trying to decide where to put my ever growing yarn and fiber stash. It's spread out all over. I'm working on it this weekend. This room is where my DD sleeps when she visits so we have a foton sofa/bed.

Thanks for the podcast and for the Watermellon sock yarn. Gorgeous!!
