Once again, I traveled to my hometown of Wooster, OH to take part in The Great Lakes Fiber Show! It was lovely. This year, I kinda met up with a few people there instead of traveling with knit buds. I had fun walking through the buildings and buildings of vendors and fondling their wares. I also popped into the barns to see the sheep and goats, which was fun. Unfortunately, there was a 4H show going on while I was trying to make my way through the barns, so I didn't get to see a lot of the animals. :(
This year, there seemed to be either less vendors, or they opened more buildings. I wasn't blown away with many of the booths. -Although I did talk with a lot of the vendors who were interesting, enthusiastic, and willing to share their passion for fiber! I would've have purchased from more booths than I did, however I didn't have cash, and several were cash only vendors. :(
I did end up buying yarn from the amazing Diane of Creatively Dyed Yarns. She didn't come to Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet Show this year, so I was anxious to get my paws on some of her fingering wt yarns.
I bought 2 hanks: Steele in Gap Colorway and Sami in Wallace Colorway. I was so excited, that I took pics outside of one of the buildings, on a bench, while still at the Fiber Show!
As you can see by the pics, Diane's booth was amazing! This was just 1/4 of her booth! Her booth was hopping! I hope she has good sales this weekend!!
I also bough this GORGEOUS yarn from Wolle's Yarn Creations called: Color Changing Cotton in Sunset 3 Colorway. Oh, it's gorgeous!!! I happened to get one of her mega skeins that is 865 yds. This pic DOES NOT do it justice. The pattern that is pictured here is A Mystery Shawl KAL pattern that was knit up in one of her Color Changing Yarns. It's gorgeous. She had the sample there. We were all trying on the shawl and fondling the fibers. Beautiful! This was the stand out yarn for me at the show
Here is a pic of just part of her booth and the Color Changing Yarns display. Her booth was SO crowded with knitters drooling over this yarn, that I couldn't even twist my body to take anymore pics!
I did end up buying the Mystery Shawl Pattern - I liked it so much!
All in all, it was a great show. We had perfect weather - 73 degrees and sunny! What more could you ask for?! My only regret is that I didn't get to buy a sheep mug from Moorefield Pottery as she was cash or check only and alas I only had credit cards. :( Hopefully, she'll be there next year!
