The People Have Spoken...

Okay, so Ms. VanHoofen did not win the general election.. but to be serious for a moment - let me just say how proud I am to have taken part in this election and that Barack Obama has been elected! As a lifelong Democrat, it wasn't a surprise that I would vote for the democratic candidate. But it was so much more than that. For me, Obama signifies hope and change. He is the embodiment of opportunity and hard work. He restores my faith in humanity and in government. I think we can create [again] a strong America. I think we can at last tell our children that you can do anything you put your mind to. As long as you work hard, anything's possible. And as the aunt of a bi-racial niece and nephews, I am so overjoyed for them. To know that this country will be united for them, not divided along the colorlines. To know that they will grow up in a country where it is not the color of your skin that matters, but the fabric of your character; your hard work; and your compassion for all.

God bless America!
